We are deeply pulled by ritual - of bringing people together (or dropping into self), the thread that connects us all, and the moments that allow us to connect and perhaps even celebrate the goodness of this life. We approach the body and soul with a deep sense of reverence, wonder and worship. We honour the delicate communion taking place between us (the makers, creators, human souls), the plant wisdom gifts of the earth - some of them thousands of years in the growing – the ceremony we hand craft these in, and the ritual in which we use and consume. All of our products and services are inspired by traditional food wisdom, offering potent botanical blends containing adaptogen, nootropic, nervine plant medicines. To be used daily in ritual and reverence, to support wellness, pleasure and communion.
Step inside our Apothecary and you’ll get a sense that this is a venture driven by deep love. A committed crew of health professionals, food artisans, herbalists, and ritual enthusiasts make up our team. The thread that connects us all is sovereignty, sanctity and communion. For these reasons all our products are crafted using only the purest, infinitely superior quality, certified organic and wild harvested ingredients, all handcrafted in small batches with precision and care. We also host a wide array of events: public and private workshop classes, cacao ceremonies, sound healings, breathwork, womb work, women’s circles, meditations and homegrown healer and herbal medicine workshops at our Apothecary and in our local area. Email us at email@example.com or look on our events calendar. We’d love to connect with you.

If we want to get down to academic qualifications, Sarah has undergraduate degrees in public and environmental health and post graduate qualifications in women’s studies and nutrition. Sarah was awarded her PhD from the University of Melbourne, post-doctoral research fellowship from the University of Queensland and was awarded an international scholarship from the University of Sydney. Her first book was released in 2009, Chemical Free Kids: Raising Healthy Children in a Toxic World, is a bestselling publication and has gone into its third reprint. One Bite at a Time: Reduce Toxic Exposure and Eat the World You Want was released in 2017 and her latest book is Forage Ferment Feast: Tales of Food and Family with Recipes for Restoring Gut Health, Connection, Healing and Wholeness was released in 2019. Sarah’s tertiary studies were guided by growing up on a rural farm, her passion for the natural world and the healing properties of whole foods – plants, herbs, fats and oils – and her reverence and wonder of the human body and soul, which has that innate ability to heal and create creation itself.
Stemming from this reverence, Sarah founded Temptress Apothecary a herbal enterprise that formulates of herbal healthcare blends that are symbiotic with nature and that can be used in everyday ritual, reverence and pleasure in the home. Sarah also founded and is the owner and Director of the Sacred Women’s Way, an organisation that sits in part of a global remembering, a re-emergence of taking back womb consciousness and the ushering in of a new paradigm of awakening our divine feminine on the planet. The foundation of Sacred Women’s Way is in curating pathways for women and men to awaken their potential, and innate power through ancient ritual and embodied practices. She is currently, and will always, be guided and mentored by many wise women, continuing her own growth with teachers in areas of herbalism, meditation, womb consciousness, and breathwork. Headquartered in Brisbane Australia, Sarah lives with her two daughters, lover, cavoodle, stray cat and delightful fish.
All Temptress Apothecary products are crafted and manufactured in accordance with the highest level of Australian and International Certified Organic standards. This means all of our products are crafted using only the purest, infinitely superior quality, certified organic ingredients, all handcrafted in small batches with precision and care and carry the ACO BUD. The certification process in its self is a long and challenging road, which explains why most companies don’t or can’t gain this accomplishment. As a company we get audited once a year to make sure we adhere to the strict standards of the certification. We always have full traceability of all ingredients and we know where they come from and most importantly how they are processed. This is true peace of mind for us and more importantly for you.
Why go certified organic?
Products simply labelled ‘Natural or Organic’ come with no guarantees unless they are certified by an independent body, because using and marketing these terms is unregulated. Many consumers assume these ‘Natural and Organic’ products contain ingredients that do not contain toxic chemicals or artificial fragrances. Unfortunately, due to the lack of regulation within the industry, manufacturers can misleadingly label their products as ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ even though they contain processed, toxic and chemically enhanced ingredients.
AUSTRALIAN CERTIFIED ORGANIC (ACO)
The BUD Logo is displayed as a stamp of integrity and represents everything that Australian organics is about – the growth and promise of spring, the sign of big things growing from the initial organic movement, and the strength and logic of nature and natural (biological and organic) systems in guiding our choices in life. The BUD reassures our customers that all the product ingredients have been certified to the Australian Certified Organic Standard and have met rigorous (and we mean rigorous) certification audits and checks and all ingredients can be traced back of all products to their origin. Organics is also not just ‘chemical free’. It is a whole systems or holistic means of growing and handling food. The whole system is linked: Soil. Plants. Animals. Food. People. Environment.
Sacred Women’s Way is committed to ensuring our products are free of:
Our Sandalwood Plantation
The Sandalwood we use in our products comes directly from our plantation in northern Western Australia. This sandalwood is native to Australia. We currently own just over 6 acres of pristine, organically grown, Sandalwood trees which are double distilled into our sandalwood essential oil. We’re proud of the Indigenous harvesting program which delivers royalties and a capacity building fund that develops and strengthened Indigenous harvesters across the state. Sandalwood is the ultimate ritual treatment with its deeply earthy, woody tones laced with balsamic notes. Sandalwood has been used throughout history to sanctify the body and mind, known as an effective relaxant, as well as inspiring passion.
Organic-Certification of a Sustainable Resource
Harvests of Australian Sandalwood are highly regulated by the Sandalwood Act, and are managed by the WA Department of Parks and Wildlife which sets the quotas based on sustainability assessments. The WA Government’s Forest Products Commission manages and harvests the resource in accordance with ISO14001 (Environment), Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) and Program for the Endorsement of Forestry Certification (PEFC). Under the management plan, systematic replanting is undertaken and part of this supply chain is certified as organic, and is audited annually as part of the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) process.
